BUSU Committees

BUSU has six committees that are chaired by a member of the executive.  Every member of the BUSU council sits on at least one BUSU committee.

1) The Finance Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President Internal, reviews the financial affairs of the Union. Deals with matters such as the budget, approval of financial statements and appointments, approval of monthly cheque details, scrutinize the financial affairs of the Union, and as well regularly review of the Health and Dental Plan

 

2) The Campaigns and Government Relations Committee, which is chaired by the President, recommends social justice, political or activist campaigns to council that will further the goals of both BUSU and the larger student movement.

3) The Student Group Promotion and Affairs Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President External considers matters relating to BUSU student groups. Specifically regarding Student Group recognition, grants, resource allocation and policy.

 

4) The Student Activities Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President External considers matters relating to BUSU activities (cultural and entertainment, fall orientation, January back-to-school, and social events).

5) The Student Services Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President Internal considers matters relating to BUSU services (Day Care, Food Bank, Student Saver, Student Handbook, International Student Identity Cards, Travel Fund, Work Study, BUSU Website, Textbook Registry, Tutoring, and any new services sanctioned by council or developed by the committee).

6) The Elections and Referenda Discipline Interpretation and Enforcement Board, considers and adjudicate disputes that arise during BUSU Elections and Referenda. The Board is composed of: four council members and four Members of the Union who shall serve as alternate members.
