REES is a simple, secure online reporting platform for sexual violence that is available to the Brandon University campus community.
REES allows an individual to Create a Record of an incident and choose from multiple reporting options including Anonymous Report, Connect to My Campus and Repeat Perpetrator Identification (RPI), as well as critical information about sexual violence policies and supports on campus and in the community. How to Register for TAO Self-Help:

  1. In your browser window, navigate to https://ca.taoconnect.org/register

  2. Enter First Name, Last Name, and your school email address

  3. Leave the ‘Enrollment Key’ field blank.

  4. Click Sign Me Up

  5. Check your email. You will be sent a Welcome to TAO email with a confirmation link which you must click on to sign in.

Code to Career is a three-month intensive boot camp, designed to launch careers in the technology sector. They are offering a huge subsidy of over $16,000 to residents of Manitoba and other underrepresented peoples to enroll in the course. The next boot camp will be starting in June.

Loy Excellentia Initiative

The Loy Excellentia Initiative is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Aloysius Anyichie in 2023 to promote excellence among Blacks. Currently, this excellence initiative offers a unique platform for Mentoring Black Students and Black Professionals in Canada. Their mentorship program empowers mentees with the essential knowledge and skills for navigating new academic institutions, their community, career paths and excel in their chosen field.

New Canadians Financial Literacy Scholarship

Enoch Media Inc., through its SavvyNewCanadians.com platform, is launching a scholarship for the purpose of increasing and improving financial literacy and awareness among students in Canada.

The Savvy New Canadians Financial Literacy Scholarship runs twice a year. Two winners will receive a one-time scholarship award value of $1,000 each for the Winter and Fall terms.

For over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been championing the health and well-being of youth. We step in before it’s too late, to help prevent the physical and mental effects of adverse childhood experiences.

Tenant Insurance for Living Off-Campus

Marsh Tenant’s Insurance

This program not only fulfills a lease agreement requirement for students to provide proof of Property and Liability Insurance to their landlords, but also provides comprehensive protection and peace of mind for students at an affordable price. 

The off-campus tenant policy provides protection for students’ contents and safeguards them from potential loss or damage for which they may be held liable.

Personal Property

Students can choose from three coverage options ($15,000, $20,000, and $25,000), with a $500 deductible to protect their belongings against theft, damage, or loss.

Additional Living Expenses

In the unfortunate event that students are unable to reside in their residence due to a covered loss, our program provides coverage for additional living expenses, offering financial support during challenging times.

Personal Liability Protection

Accidents happen, and our program includes personal liability coverage up to $1 million, ensuring that students are financially protected against accidental damages or injuries they may be held liable for.
